The Graduate

H graduated from high school and we froze our butts off in 40 degree weather to attend the festivities. Geo is already talking about ditching his graduation in 3 years.

Breaking college news

H is officially a member of the Williams class of 2030. We manifested this when he was 18 months old and take all the credit.

Nerd alert

H was selected as a candidate for the Presidential Scholar program.

He is also a National Merit Finalist. 🤓

Look ma, no braces!

They came off today thanks to Geo's diligence in wearing his rubber bands.

Now he just needs a haircut to complete his fall break makeover.

Thirteen!

Somehow, our tiny baby is now 13! He is also now maybe an inch shorter than M. She will soon be the shortest member of two families. 

Geo is the most helpful member of the family. He does chores without asking and is always the first to volunteer to help his parents. He is continuing his Japanese studies and is doing scouts, cello, and drums. He loves the Container Store and buying candy at Five Below. He is a carbon copy of his father in terms of culinary tastes, loving raw salt, Rainier cherries, and raspberries.

Sixteen!

H is now 16. We did our usual Red Robin dinner. He is getting way too tall and always needs a haircut. M misses him as a baby when his hair stuck straight up and he was always shouting.

Baby is 12!

Geo got back from his Oregon trip right around midnight, so we declared it was his birthday. When we got home, his antique pocket watch and chain were waiting on his desk. He is going to use them to hypnotize Snoopy to cure him of his biting habit.

M is depressed because age 12 is when the boys surpass her in height. (Geo has a ways to go at 4' 9" but the boys accuse her of inflating her height.)

Birthday boy

Geo traditionally has birthday cupcakes when he is in Bandon around his birthday. Here are his latest birthday cupcakes and a few blasts from the past. 

18

R is now 18!

He (barely) passed his driving test today.

We indulged in sushi on his actual birthday. He eats a frightening amount when someone else is paying. Geo actually tried some sashimi for the first time. 

R has come a long way since 2005! Happy birthday!

Eleven

Geo got a phone, cymbals, and a new basketball among other things. He will be starting sixth grade soon.

Hard to believe that the baby of the family is now 9! We celebrated with Pixel.

Henry is 12! And right on time, Otto Brown came out of hibernation, too.

We celebrated at Red Robin before everything shut down. Happy birthday, Henrykins! Not quite as tall as Mommy yet but just 3 inches to go. In a few more years, she will be the shortest member of the family...

H and G both passed their swim tests! Woohoo, no more level 2!

CBK

Henry completed his second summer of CBK, which is now at Boulder. He studied Android programming, a thinly veiled excuse to get Mommy to buy him a new tablet.
