Pull-ups

Geo asked M to buy him a pull-up bar to "get gains" (whatever that means). M held an inaugural pull-up competition for the boys ($10 per pull-up, plus an extra $50 to the winner). Here are the results:

R - 10

G - 8

H - 3

Snoopy tried to participate but got stuck.

Christmas cat

We spent Christmas Eve with Richard and his annoying cat, who bit M and is unrepentant.

Here are some gifts that we got this year that we really like.

Fancy jacket for H from Grandma

Puffer coat Pusheen for M from H

Weird reading list

Halmoni recently sent us an old summer reading list that M put together before her senior year in high school, and it was pretty weird (lots of Greek tragedies). M thinks the boys have pretty weird reading habits themselves. Here is a list of the books she ordered for them in Amazon in 2025 (doesn't even include all the strange books they forced her to buy at the college bookstores they visited). Can you guess which boy ordered which book?

The Art of Japanese Joinery

The Language Game

Merriam-Webster's Vocabulary Builder

The Brothers Karamazov

The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind

The Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious

FRYS winter concert

Geo did great as usual. Afterward, we went to Five Guys for an overpriced dinner. (M never lets us go there unless someone has a recital or other special event because she is so stingy.)

Merry Christmas!

This crew sure knows how to run up a dinner bill.

Nerds

Two out of the three boys now have glasses. (R annoyingly has 20/15 vision.) M likes it when they wear their glasses, which they rarely do because they think they look too nerdy. But nerds are the cutest.

Bring your Pests to Work Day

Henry and George enthusiastically ditched school last week to hang out at Mommy's office. George brought his new friend, Tapir (also known as Napir).

Potpourri

Not much exciting has been happening around here, so here is a random assortment of pictures showing what the boys have been up to.

Take me out to the ball game...

We ventured out to Coors Field for the Rockies vs. Mets game. The boys are probably not going to become die-hard baseball fans but had a good time eating overpriced food.

Today Richard leaves for a Boy Scout rafting trip, and tomorrow we get Henrykins back from CBK!!!

Monster Truck

George wanted to visit this "Touch a Truck" event, so we humored him and saw some cool vehicles on Saturday. Later, we classed it up by going to the symphony. Henry had a piano lesson on Friday, Richard had a trumpet lesson on Saturday, and George had a cello lesson on Sunday. We are turning into quite the musical family!

Blues, Brews, and BBQ

We braved a snowstorm and lots of rain to check out this festival. We caused a lot of trouble, as you can probably tell from these pictures:

Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks to Mommy being scatterbrained, our cards will be arriving late. Meanwhile, enjoy this message from your favorite Pudgets!

Smartypants

Today we went to an awards ceremony for kids who took the PSAT 8/9. Richard and Henry both scored in the top 10% of the test takers in their respective grades. Plus. Henry had the highest score for a third grader in the entire state! Go Henry! (We always suspected he was hiding extra brains in the "corners" on the side of his head--this bodes well for George, who also has corners.)
