Way harsh, Tai!

Mommy (feeling bloated after a large meal): Ugh, I feel so fat and ugly!

Georgie: Mommy, you're not fat and ugly . . . . You're fat and cute!

Kindergarten story time: H vs. G edition

"Rainy Day" by Henry (ca. 2014) - "Once upon a time. Litning [lightning] . . . came. at 5:05. in a Hose [house]. a gint [giant] smacd [smacked] a . . . Pea! "I am a gint!" He said. Just then 100[,]009 water drops fell on . . . the gint !!!!!!!" (The blue text, including the "Good Job!," was added by George.)

"The Rocket That Flew to the Moon" by George - "Once upon a time a rockit [rocket] came at 5:05 pm. The rockit started to fly. Now it was in the aiy [air]. It landed on the moon. It was hot."

We had long admired Henry's story and its colorful imagery (especially a "gint" that "smacd" a pea). When it was George's turn to write a story, he paid homage to Henry's story with the 5:05 reference but kept his plot more mainstream.

Reunited and it feels so good!

Today, while George was tidying up his play area, he stumbled across a container that was perfectly sized to fit a Baby Otis--and there he was! (George likened the container to a coffin, but luckily, Original Baby Otis seemed no worse for the wear after his weeks of confinement.) Now George is toying with the idea of getting a third baby owl to mirror our own family, but Mommy may have to draw the line given how troublesome these owls have been so far.

Here is the video.

First tooth gone!

Right after announcing that one of his teeth hurt, George parted ways with said tooth and now is sporting an adorable new smile.

New baby Otis

George's old baby Otis went AWOL after being used as a projectile around the house. George saved up his allowance and performed some chores in order to afford this new colorful baby Otis:

Baby Otis II is much more colorful than the original!

He comes with a colorful carrying case, too! (Don't call it a purse.)

Good Day Sunshine

It was a sunny albeit windy weekend in Denver. The boys started tennis and golf lessons. George had the best attitude of all the boys, surprisingly, and had a blast. We ended the weekend exploring a new park with a cool playground and a hill climb with 200 steps that almost killed Mommy.

The two blurry figures at the top are Richard and Henry!

"That's Weird" park

Three years ago, we explored a strange park with 70s era exercise equipment throughout. George famously declared as he experimented on one of the machines, "That's weird!" He now calls all of the equipment "That's weird things."

The Brick House by George

Postscript - George explained that "normal" tornadoes can't blow down the brick house, but certain especially powerful tornadoes can. Richard believes that if he, Henry, and George were the pigs, he most certainly would have built the brick house, and Henry and George would have been dumb and/or lazy enough to build houses out of sticks and hay.
