Blues, Brews, and BBQ

We braved a snowstorm and lots of rain to check out this festival. We caused a lot of trouble, as you can probably tell from these pictures:

George's brilliant idea

George's class had some ideas for the best and highest use of the vacant Safeway in our neighborhood. Check out George's idea:

"Dear City Planner, We need more candy store! because it will make lots of money.
Everer [Every] kid needs candy! Thanks, George"

Night of the Notables

Tonight was Henry's turn to be in the Third Grade Night of the Notables. He decided on portraying Stan Lee. Mommy tried to slick back his hair but to no avail--it refused to cooperate. Henry had some very interesting facts to share, including that Stan Lee was an official playwright for the U.S. Army!

So bad...

Richard has been showing everyone the infamous Nintendo Power Glove commercials, including the one where a kid declares, "I love the Power Glove . . . It's so bad!" George, upon hearing this line, asked, "Is that why you love me, mama? Because I'm so bad?"

Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks to Mommy being scatterbrained, our cards will be arriving late. Meanwhile, enjoy this message from your favorite Pudgets!

Happy Owl's Day!

Henry and George invented Owl's Day, a new holiday the day before Mother's Day, and made some nice cards for George's owls.
Henry's card, front/back - depicting New Graduation Owl and one of the Baby Otises.
Henry's card (inside) - depicting Rowlet (a Pokemon character).
"Shugull maps" is how the owls pronounce "Google maps." (Don't ask)
George's card (front/back) - Showing the entire owl family (New/Old Graduation Owl, Original/Colorful Baby Otis),
plus the lyrics to the owl theme song ("O, O D, O D O D O D" to a tune similar to this Allegro).

George's card (inside) - "Happy Owl Day! I hope you have a grert [great] owl day. Thank you Noo Gwadge and Old Gwadge for takeing care of the owls."
[picture of "Noo Gwadge" feeding a worm to one of the Baby Otises].
"Happy Owl Day! Thanks for breaning [bringing] water for evrer [every] hike. I hope you have a great Owl Day!" [picture of the owl family taking a hike, including "cbo" (Colorful Baby Otis) and "obo" (Original Baby Otis). Note that Noo Gwadge is holding a "shugull map"]

Smartypants

Today we went to an awards ceremony for kids who took the PSAT 8/9. Richard and Henry both scored in the top 10% of the test takers in their respective grades. Plus. Henry had the highest score for a third grader in the entire state! Go Henry! (We always suspected he was hiding extra brains in the "corners" on the side of his head--this bodes well for George, who also has corners.)
